When it comes to Zarrine’s beauty kudos, the clue is in the handle. @zarrine_beautyjunkie by name and definitely a beauty junkie by nature, Zarrine’s passion for all things skincare was ingrained in her at an early age by her mother who used to trawl the beauty counters and Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

Zarrine came to the K-beauty world after dabbling with sheet masks but it was bumping into Jin at a blogger event (and the goody bag she went home with) that cemented her love affair with Korean skincare.

Combining her love of K-beauty with her passion for the gardening and the great outdoors, the brand new TONIC15 x Zarrine Garden of Skincare kit takes its cue from Mother Nature and counts several staples the content creator has grown to love during her time in The 15. We sat down with her to get the full lowdown on its contents…

My love of all things floral – especially roses – inspired this kit! I’m obsessed with their fragrance and beauty. I particularly love their skincare benefits – it’s uplifting, refreshing and hydrating! What more could you want?!

I’ve always had great admiration for beautiful gardens which stemmed from watching my parents put in years of hard work making theirs look almost award-winning (my followers will most definitely remember my stories about this from last summer!).

Since buying my house a few years ago, my love for gardening and nature have grown as I’ve slowly been transforming my own little patch. There’s nothing more satisfying than planting a seed and watching it grow and thrive!

It didn’t take me very long actually! I had an instant idea about what I wanted to include because it’s built around everything I’m currently using and enjoying. I went backwards with a couple of products as I didn’t want to alienate people who aren’t fans of rose – I know it’s not for everyone, as much as I adore it! After about a month – with the Jin’s help and advice – we curated a kit which I think is pretty inclusive and appealing to different skin types, ages and lifestyles.

That is such a difficult question! I think it would have to be Huxley Cleansing Gel. The signature fragrance transports me to somewhere much more exotic than North West London and I really can’t get enough of it! Also, the first ingredient happens to be Prickly Pear Extract which is quite unusual and unique.

I love any kind of toner or serum application! Nothing feels better than replenishing and hydrating the skin – for me it’s a key part of my routine.

A MAJOR role, skincare IS my self-care! It’s how I wake up in the morning and start my day and it’s what I look forward to most when I come home from work. Taking the day off my face is how I unwind. I apply a morning mask when I want to revive my skin on the weekends or a sheet mask if I want to sit back and relax.

Like the vast majority of us, I’m finding Lockdown 3.0 much harder than the other ones! Dull, dreary days and the cold weather coupled with the uncertainty of when the restrictions will be lifted have really been taking its toll on my mood. I take comfort from small happy moments whilst doing my skincare, organising my product stash and tidying my house! Even though I still physically go to work during the week, I take time to relax on the weekends, by reading, binge watching Netflix and writing reviews for my page.

Jin is a real-life angel and will do almost anything to make you feel special and cared for – I really do feel unworthy sometimes! I’m so grateful she gave me the opportunity to become a part of the first 15 – and create a skincare kit, no less! Her team produce such clean and crisp content and I’m in awe of their creativity.
